International Automobile Dealers Announce Monthly Sales Despite Optimism, Sales Continue to Drop
The American International Automobile Dealers Association (AIADA) today released June 2009 sales figures for the international automobile industry. AIADA represents over 11,000 international franchises, which so far this year account for 54.6 percent of all vehicles sold in the United States. Overall sales, including domestics and unadjusted for business days, were down 27.7 percent compared to June 2008 and 35.1 percent year to date.

Reynolds and Reynolds announced today that the Michigan Automobile Dealers Association (MADA) is endorsing the Reynolds LAW(R) 553 Universal Retail Sale Contract to the more than 700 new car dealerships that the association currently represents throughout Michigan.

NADA Statement on GM's Revised Participation Agreement
The National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) has reviewed and supports GM's amendments to the Participation Letter Agreement. We're especially pleased that GM moved so quickly to meet with NADA and the GM National Dealer Council on such short notice to review and to discuss the serious concerns that dealers had with the original agreement.

NADA Chairman Urges Congress to Intervene to Prevent Unfair Treatment of Auto Dealers
John McEleney, chairman of the National Automobile Dealers Association, commended a Senate committee today for focusing on the unfair treatment of the General Motors and Chrysler dealers. Also, McEleney expressed grave concerns about GM's plan to require all of its surviving dealers to sign a one-sided, open-ended operating agreement as a condition for remaining a GM dealer.

Overall sales, including domestics and unadjusted for business days, were down 33.7 percent from May 2008.
